Haris Alexiou is one of the most significant performers and songwriters in Greece, with a career spanning a little more than 50 years.
From her very first appearance on the music scene in the early ’70s to this day, her journey in music counts more than 12 million records sold, gold and platinum albums, and a wealth of collaborations with leading artists and creators from Greece and abroad.

Over the years she has sung on the largest stages and in the greatest music venues around the world, and has received honours both in Greece and abroad. She has recorded more than 30 albums, has taken part in albums by established and younger songwriters alike, and has worked with new artists, giving voice to her many-sided musical explorations.

From Greece to Australia, from Russia to Africa, from Europe to North and South America and Japan, Haris Alexiou sings and travels, carrying with her voice the soul of Greek song.
In recent years she has turned her focus to acting, appearing in theatre productions, in film and in television projects such as Christoforos Papakaliatis’ series “Maestro”, which travelled the world through Netflix.

Her path has earned her recognition as a performer of classic stature and, at the same time, established her as a leading figure of new Greek songwriting, thanks to her lyrics and music.

Over her 50-year career she has worked with great Greek creators such as Manos Loizos, Apostolos Kaldaras, Yannis Spanos, Thanos Mikroutsikos, Manolis Rasoulis, Christos Nikolopoulos, Lefteris Papadopoulos, Nikos Antypas, Lina Nikolakopoulou, Mikis Theodorakis, Manos Hadjidakis and many more.

With the uniqueness of her interpretation, her commanding stage presence and her constant search for new musical paths, she remains at the forefront of Greek song.

She believes that Greek song, through its poets and composers, has led her to love and understand more deeply the culture and history of her homeland.
