With more than 50 years of career behind her, Haris Alexiou never rests on her laurels and continually asserts a dynamic artistic present.
And so she entrusts a team of producers from the new generation of music – Ermis Geragidis (Ermis) and Isidoros Kiloudis (Issy Beats) – who have taken on the task of presenting to the public anew eight of the countless songs from her vast body of work. With the utmost respect, they select and breathe new life into songs that the beloved artist had already recorded in years past.
We had a small taste through the singles “O Anthropos tou Kavou” (“The Man from the Cape”), “To Tango tis Nefelis” (“Nefeli’s Tango”) and the most recent, “Esi me Xereis Pio Poli” (“You Know Me Best”), which topped the radio & digital charts.
Special moments come from the guest artists: Christos Mastoras, one of the finest singers of the younger generation and frontman of the band MELISSES; Kid Moxie, the fast-rising producer, composer and singer with major collaborations abroad and in Greece – most recently with Depeche Mode – as well as her contribution to the soundtrack of Maestro; and, of course, O.P.A., the much-loved band of the ’90s.
The album also holds two surprises: the previously unreleased tracks “Fige” (“Go Away”) and “Aspro Feggari” (“White Moon”). “Fige”, set to rap rhythms, features LEX, one of the most influential figures on today’s rap scene, with millions of views and streams and tens of thousands of people at his concerts. The second, “Aspro Feggari”, is a ballad in the ousak mode, with a moving performance by Haris Alexiou.
