Haris Alexiou brings “Cheirografo” (“Manuscript”) back to the stage for 12 performances at the Katerina Vasilakou New Theatre
After its moving reception by audiences and critics alike, Haris Alexiou returns to the stage on 12 October, for just 12 performances, to tell and sing moments from her life that she herself wrote, in the music-theatre performance directed by Yorgos Nanouris.
Alone on stage, now speaking and now singing, with laughter and tears alternating, accompanied by a cello, a piano, an accordion and a guitar, the great singer follows the thread from her childhood to the present day and reveals to us how little Charikleia from Thebes became the Haroula of all Greece.
Images, memories, words never spoken, moments of a life, treasured letters, notes, dreams, nightmares, past lives, loves, smiles, concerts, journeys, the men, the songs, the father, release, the wants, the musts, sweetness, laughter, memory, the earth, joy, the body, the soul, the mind, the voice.
A personal confession in a “Cheirografo” that moved all who saw it.
“Cheirografo” returns on 12 October for just 12 performances at the Katerina Vasilakou New Theatre and, immediately after its run in Athens ends, will travel to cities in Greece and abroad.
