After a moving reception from audiences and critics in Athens, Haris Alexiou comes to the Thessaloniki Concert Hall from 4 November for just 8 performances, to tell and sing moments from her life that she herself has written, in the music-theatre performance directed by Yorgos Nanouris.
Alone on stage, sometimes speaking and sometimes singing, with laughter and tears taking turns, accompanied by a cello, a piano, an accordion and a guitar, the great singer picks up the thread from her childhood to the present day and reveals to us how little Charikleia from Thebes became the Haroula of all Greece.
Images, memories, words never spoken before, moments of a life, letters kept, notes, dreams, nightmares, past lives, loves, smiles, concerts, journeys, the men, the songs, the father, the release, the wants, the musts, the sweetness, the laughter, the memory, the earth, the joy, the body, the soul, the mind, the voice.
A personal confession in a Manuscript that moved all who saw it.
“Cheirografo” (“Manuscript”) is staged for a second year and, immediately after its performances in Thessaloniki, it will travel to cities in Greece and abroad.
